But, I must admit, that last night I walked into a restaurant (yes, in Albany) and rang my friend&#039;s cell, looking to locate the table she was sitting at (and, no, I did not first ask how are you).  And, I&#039;ve recently read somewhere (sorry, but I don&#039;t have the reference) that in a survey of college students their #1 preferred mode of communication was/is text messaging.  And I know that within my text messaging menus, I have a &quot;quick note&quot; option that allows me to send the phrase &quot;Where are you?&quot; or &quot;where r u&quot; (as the case may be), so that I don&#039;t even have to actually type the words out.   This is not a coherent response to your post, but merely some of the things it made me think of and about.
